About Worship & Word

Worship & Word had it’s beginning under the leadership of Rev. & Mrs. Terry Baughman. The first service was held on April 16, 1989 at the Grand Inn in Peoria. Shortly thereafter the church outgrew the meeting room and moved to Pastor Baughman’s home.

In May of 1992, the church purchased property at 8668 W. Mountain View.

In August 1994, Pastor Baughman accepted an invitation to join the faculty of Christian Life College, Stockton, CA.

September of that same year brought a new face to the leadership of Worship & Word. Rev. & Mrs. Timothy Davis. The following year, Worship & Word relocated to 8979 W. Peoria Ave.

After successfully leading the congregation for almost eleven years, in 2005, Pastor Davis felt lead to return to his native Texas.

Effective July 17, 2005, Rev. & Mrs. Stacey L. Wiley accepted the pastorate of Worship & Word.

As of December, 2006, the church purchased a new building. Moving from 3600 square feet and a seating capacity of 145 to 18,800 square feet and a potential seating capacity of 500.

Built upon a history of strong leadership, Worship & Word, has yet to see it’s greatest days.
